How to convert matches into wins?

Are you receiving matches, but struggling to convert them into bookings? We get it, it's frustrating.

Check out our tips to get those matches past the finish line. It’s time to put on your sales hat!

Get on the Phone!

Call the client as soon as you get a match; this saves time in the long run. Leave them a voicemail and follow up with an email, text message or WhatsApp if you can't reach them through a call.

Remember, some of your emails might go to their junk folder or they might not be active on emails.

The client may have also matched with other venues so you want to be the first one to pitch to them and this is a lot easier and more effective over the phone, rather than by email which can be a lot of back and forth. Being the first person to call keeps you at the forefront of their mind over competitors.

Understanding Client Needs

Before selling the space, understand the client's needs by asking them open questions. Tailor your offering to meet their specific event, emphasizing what sets you apart.

Follow up, follow up, follow up

Try to call all recent matches if you haven’t heard back from them and leave a voicemail if they don’t answer the phone. It is better to know if they have found another venue rather than being left in the dark.

Make sure to re-engage with old matches if the event date hasn’t passed, they might still be looking for a venue but missed your email.

There's always next time

The Lead Feed is a lead-generating platform. You may not have won that specific event, but your past matches are still opportunities for new clients. There is no harm in contacting them to ask if they have anything coming up in the future. This works particularly well for corporate enquiries.

Proposal to Booking

Sending the proposal is only halfway there; keep an open conversation throughout the decision-making process.

Urgency

Create urgency with clients by offering limited-time promotions and discounts for early bookings, competing against competitor pricing and confirming the booking early.

Utilise the Lead Feed

Try to look on the Lead Feed as well as responding to our email notifications to ensure no leads slip through the cracks!

Keep track of your matches

Mark your wins and losses in the Lead Feed under Interested Guests. This not only helps you keep your matches organised, but it also affects the Relevancy algorithm that recommends leads you should be going after.
